This case logic bag is what I would call a computer case on the cheap. This bag is light weight and would do in a pinch, but it is not a long term investment. One could get an oversized laptop into the center pouch, which provides a padded adjusted that can be adjusted for smaller laptops. For an inexpensive machine, this *could* work as a short term solution.
The bag is light weight, thinly padded and the materials are simply too thin to provide any level of protection. While the seams were all well sewn, I found that the shoulder strap clips (those clips that attach the strap to the bag to be plastic with metal wire closers to look cheap. While the springs on these are tense, one side broke while trying to detach the strap. As a result, its in the trash.
I simply can not recommend this case if you can afford to buy a better one. As I said, this would work in a pinch as an emergency computer case, but it simply isn’t what I would consider safe for a general purpose laptop.

I had bought a new Qosmio X505 laptop with an 18.4 inch screen and needed a larger case. This case works great. It’s easily large enough for the laptop as well as all the various peripherals. The bag itself has a nice feel.
A great buy.

I have to admit, when I first opened the box and took this bad boy out, I was appalled by the size. I’ve been trying to go smaller and smaller with everything I carry around on a daily basis. My four-pound notebook computer looked almost lost in it.
Then, when I started adding in the notes, books, pens, mouse, external drive, earphones, and other accessories I carry regularly, I was surprised again by how much the case held. Comfortably. Everything is easily laid out inside it, easy to get to and quick to hand. I love the outside entrance/pocket that allows me to get to some of my equipment without opening the case.
The case looks good and appears very durable. It stands up and provides good protection for the computer.

This is what I would call a “transporter” bag – you use it to take your laptop from point A to point B. This bag does not replace a laptop backpack in terms of functionality or a travel computer case if you are traveling or you carry the laptop with you 24×7.
I have used this with a 17.3″ widescreen HP laptop and stored it side-by-side with its AC adapter. The adjustable divider comes in handy. The AC adapter has to stand on its side to fit comfortably – without forcing it in. If you have a larger laptop and want to store the A/C adapter next to it, make sure you check the exact dimensions of the bag and of your computer and A/C adapter. The screensize only defines the minimum size of a laptop – the actual size varies, so it’s a good idea to check the measurements if you are not sure.
It served its purpose as a “transporter bag” – such as going from home to coffee shop and back. And considering the price, this may be a good idea – but only if you need a computer case like this.
The bag is not intended to be filled up with all sorts of other things. While it does have other compartments for pens and such, it is best suited for a more spartan set – I put in the other compartments (not the one with the laptop) a USB chill mat, mouse, a paper notepad, and a pen. It has room for more small things, but if you have one of those giant overflowing organizers (you know who you are), it may not be a good idea.
Unlike some of the bigger computer cases or laptop backpacks, this is not intended to be stuffed with stuff.
I did not use the shoulder strap, so I can’t really comment on it.

The Caselogic 18-Inch Laptop Case is a decent and functional piece. Well made and large enough for an 18 inch laptop, in my opinion it seems to be best used by the casual traveler. Definitely too big for a college student and probably not enough depth for the business traveler.
The product description talks about all the organizational tools the case has. Basically it has an outside pocket, which includes a couple of inner pouches, as well as an inside pocket for files and papers. The advantage is with the 18 inch length you do have a fair amount of room for storage. However, other than the size there is really nothing different in this case versus any other laptop case I’ve had in the past.
Again, it is a well-made, functional laptop case. There is nothing special about it but nothing negative about it as well. At the current price I would say it’s a goood value.
