Laptop Carrying Cases
People looking for a computer carrying cases are almost always looking for a laptop carrying cases. With the popularity of laptops exploding it’s no wonder that more and more people are looking to buy them.
Before you start your journey in search of laptop carrying cases there are a few things you need to know. The first is the size of the case you will need. Not all laptops are the same size and not all laptop carrying cases are either. You need to be sure the case will handle your computer. And along with that be sure there is enough room for the other accessories you need too. Things like cables, chargers, maybe even an external mouse and mousepad along with an external keyboard. Some people even carry their docking stations in there case when they travel.
So once you figure out what size you will need then you should consider the amount of protection it will offer. Some laptop carrying cases are more for looks than for function. If you need protection then be sure the interior has enough padding to keep the components from banging into each other. The hard drives made today are a log tougher than they were just a few years ago but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be careful. Some cases have flimsy foam protection between the compartments while others use high density foam with adjustable sections to provide you with the most versatility while providing you with the most protection at the same time.
For me, I prefer a case that is large enough to hold everything and still give excellent protection without adding a lot of weight. There are lots of cases out there but not all of them offer protection as well as style and looks. If you want some stylish looking leather case then be sure it also offers good protection along with its good looks.
The one I use is large enough for my 17″ screen laptop computer. It uses hook and loop (Velcro) inside to allow you to move things around and it will even accommodate a laptop even larger than the 17″ screen I travel with.
Not only does it hold the laptop very nicely, it comes with lots of other compartments, many of which are mesh covered, so you can see exactly what it in them without having to fumble through every compartment looking for your cellphone charger.
It also has nice zippered compartments for storing things like file folders, small books, etc. With todays laptop carrying cases, they have thought of everything. Under the top flap there is a compartment for storing pens, pencils, etc. There are two other compartments on each side of the bag for other accessories too.
The case is so well organized that even when it’s stuffed full, it is not bulky or lumpy. It is so compact that it will even fit under an airplane seat. So if you travel a lot on airplanes you should take a look at the Targus line.
They have a new line of ‘slip through’ cases that allow you to go through airport security without unzipping the case with the computer in it.
There are lots and lots of other manufacturers of computer carrying cases or laptop carrying cases out there and you may find one you like better than the one I use. Just take your time when making your selection. Today’s laptop carrying cases are built to last a long time and if you happen to make a mistake you will be living with it for a long time too.
